Reclaimed Exhibit at Art Enables

  • Art Enables 2204 Rhode Island Avenue Northeast Washington, DC, 20018 United States (map)

RECLAIMED explores eco-conscious art practices and features 23 local artists who were challenged to use at least 25% recycled materials in their work. This juried exhibition features emerging artists such as collage artist Sarah Buchanan and self-taught pop artist Charlie Visconage, who have each recently had their first major solo shows, alongside seasoned artists, including Meghan Walsh, whose mosaic art has won numerous awards and George Lorio, whose political and environmental work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. Among the 23 participating artists, some use recognizable materials and everyday objects in their work while others integrate recycled materials in less obvious ways. The work spans many top...ics and highlights the creative potential in using recycled materials as well as the skill and creative ability of the featured artists. Other participating artists include Adam Bradley and Sarah Wegner, Matt Carl, Duly Noted Painters, Joanne Dvorsky, Amethyst Garvey, Jay Young Gerard, Eric Gordon, Marcella Morgese, Terence Nicholson, Jonathan Ottke, Leah Schaperow, Dafna Steinberg, Christine Stoddard, Tracy Wilkerson, Robb Williams and Peter “peaReye” JoCeph.

The exhibition was juried by Allie Frazier, Gallery and Studio Manager of Art Enables.
